MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LITTLE CAWTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL
A Meeting of the Parish Council was held in the Pool Room at The Royal Oak on Wednesday 21 July 2021 at 7.30 pm, this had been delayed due to Covid-19 related matters.

2. Minutes of Last Meeting
The Minutes of the Meeting held on 19 May 2021 were approved and signed.
3. Reports
Cemetery Working Group
The Committee noted the Coroners letter to LPCC advising that no objections had been received in respect of the closure of the new burial ground at St Helen’s Churchyard and that this area would be closed. Following confirmation from the LPCC, the Parish Council will commence grasscutting of this area only, after obtaining quotes from local contractors. The removal of weeds etc around new yew hedge was also discussed.
Legbourne Community Centre Group
Cllr Mrs Poppleton did not attend the last meeting due to isolating. The car boot for July was suspended due to Covid cases rising.
Speeding, Traffic & Highways Issues/Police Matters
Cllrs Grist & Parkin walked the village with Mr Russell Crockford (LCC) to address various issues. Watery Lane is to be jet patched again and one or two of the potholes addressed later in the year. Buston Lane is to be closed for works and Cllr Grist volunteered to distribute a note to all residents regarding the closure. An email from Cllr Parkin regarding A16 resurfacing was noted.
4. Clerk’s Report
The Chairman had arranged for the service/maintenance of the defibrillator to be carried out. The cost of this service was £180 and it was
RESOLVED to agree payment defibrillator servicing at a cost of £180.
5. Planning
The Committee considered a Planning Application N/102/00803/21 for the extension to an existing bungalow to provide ground floor kitchen/dining area with utility & wc and FF bedroom with en-suite at La Haie Sainte and it was
RESOLVED to support Planning Application N/102/00803/21 at La Haie Sainte.
6. Correspondence
Clerks & Councils Magazine, ELDC-Electoral Update, Lincs Police-Neighbourhood Policing Provision, Lincs Wolds Annual Review, Open Spaces – noted.
7. Accounts
The statement of Income and Expenditure was noted which met the Council’s approval.
LIVES-Defibulator £180.00 Clerk’s Salary £358.28
No HMRC payment required.
8. Business
Bollard to Beck
Cllrs Grist, Parkin and Mr Crockford (LCC) assessed the area at the Legbourne end of the beck which is still getting silted up due to 4 x 4s using the stream. Mr Crockford advised that because this was a “green lane”, it would be very difficult to remove this access. The possibility of putting some signage up to prevent people inadvertently following Sat Nav guidance, the SATNav guidance will be updated by highways too. It was
RESOLVED to no longer pursue the possibility of Bollard to Beck.
Noticeboard
Cllr Poppleton kindly agreed to approach the Men’s Shed in Louth to see if they are able to carry out the work needed to the noticeboard and the possibility of ELDC funding was noted.
Pond Improvements
The Committee agreed that any work to tidy will be carried out from September onwards.
Projects
The Committee noted that there was still some work to be done at other end of the beck. Clean up of Buston Lane will be done later in the year now as the equipment needed is not available when the road is closed.
9. Matters for Discussion
Charity Tractor Run had, due to the size of some of the vehicles taking part, caused substantial damage to hedges and verges in the narrow lanes of the village. It was agreed to contact the organizers and request that they consider the route and the size of vehicles for any future events.
