MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LITTLE CAWTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL
A Meeting of the Parish Council was held at The Royal Oak on Wednesday 13 July 2022 at 7.30 pm.

Also Present: Cllr Ms Parkin (LCC) & 2 Parishioners.

2. Presentation – Farming in Protected Landscapes
Deferred to September, due to Mr S Scoffin contracting covid.
3. Minutes of Last Meeting
The Minutes of the Meeting held on 18 May 2022 were approved and signed.
4. Reports
Cemetery Working Group – The Chairman advised that there was nothing to report on this item.
Legbourne Community Centre Group
Cllr Mrs Poppleton advised that the next meeting of this group is 13/09/22, there was no other news to report.
Speeding, Traffic & Highways Issues/Police Matters
The Committee noted Cllr Ms Parkin’s advice that a site visit would be held at Planting Side, and there had been discussion regarding the official diversion when there is an accident on the A16, this would ensure proper signs were put up on both entrances to Little Cawthorpe. A 30mph speed restriction has been approved for Burwell from Muckton Road into the village. An archer survey is to be taken at Walmsgate. There is a new interim Manager (Leyla) at Highways (LCC). The Vice-Chairman advised that Legbourne Road junction needs re-surfacing and the Watery Lane surface is already breaking up and the pot-holes need filling properly before re-surfacing takes place.

7. Correspondence
Rural Links & LALC– noted.
8. Accounts
The statement of Income and Expenditure was noted which met the Council’s approval.

9. Business
Beck Silt Build-up
The Committee had agreed at the May Meeting to contribute £250 towards the cost of this project, with match-funding (£250) from Legbourne Parish Council. Some parishioners from Legbourne will help on the day, a skip is organised, a date in Aug/Sept needs to be settled on for the work to be carried out.
Bench Donation
The Vice-Chairman is obtaining quotes for a bench on behalf of the donator. The old bench will be relocated to the pond, and it was
RESOLVED that the work is completed by November and that the item remains on the Agenda.
Church Walk-Forestry Commission
The Committee received an application from the Forestry Commission on behalf of the landowner, which detailed the works required and the reasons for the work. Therefore, the Parish Council had no objection to this work being carried out.
Church Handrail and Steps - Storm Damage Repairs
The Chairman reported that that he has most items and he would organise to complete work before the end of August.
Pond Improvements
The Committee agreed that they would go into pond at end of September.
Projects-Nothing to report
10. Matters for Discussion
The Committee had been approached about the possibility of a Duck Race, but unfortunately there were not enough Members to be able to facilitate this.
