MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LITTLE CAWTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL
A Meeting of the Parish Council was held at The Royal Oak on Wednesday 30 March 2022 at 7.30 pm. This Meeting was originally to be held on 16 March 2022, but was postponed due to the Clerk having covid.

2. Minutes of Last Meeting
The Minutes of the Meeting held on 12 January 2022 were approved and signed.
3. Reports
Cemetery Working Group – The Contractor for the new grasscutting contract had supplied appropriate insurance documentation and had been given instruction to commence work for the new financial year. It was noted that the maple tree had split in the high winds and required the attention of a professional tree surgeon.
Legbourne Community Centre Group
Cllr Mrs Poppleton advised that the next meeting of this group is 12/04/22. Easter Bingo to be held on 08/04/22 and a Car Boot on 22/05/22.
Speeding, Traffic & Highways Issues/Police Matters
The Committee noted that whilst the A16 had been closed the village had been very busy, with traffic backing up on Muckton Road. The road closure at Watery and Buston Lane was also noted.
4. Clerk’s Report
The Clerk had nothing to report.
5. Planning
The Committee had considered Planning Application N/102/01539/21-Change of Use - Hougoumount Farm, Top Road and it was
RESOLVED that the Parish Council had no comment or objections to Planning Application N/102/01539/21.
6. Correspondence
Clerks & Councils Magazine, Guide, ELDC-Register of Electors Update, Open Spaces, Littlethorpe Shelters – noted.
The Committee noted that LIVES had been to check the defibulator and carry out training with the staff of the Royal Oak. The Parish Council expressed their sincere appreciation of this undertaking by the staff of the Royal Oak.
7. Accounts
The statement of Income and Expenditure was noted which met the Council’s approval.
Clerk’s Salary £388.12 PAYE £7.60
Louth Men’s Shed-Noticeboard £230.00
The Committee noted that an increment to the Clerk’s Salary had been advised by NALC with effect from 01/04/2021. It was
RESOLVED to implement the Clerk’s new salary scale backdated to 01/04/2021.
8. Business
Emergency Repairs to Handrail and Paving Slab due to Storm Damage Church Steps
The Chairman advised that he had obtained quotes for this work and had been grossly over-priced. The Chairman advised that he would obtain the wood and paving slab himself and repair at an estimated cost of £62 as soon as possible. The damaged tree would require attention, but the Parish Council would prefer that it was not cut down. It was
RESOLVED to instruct the Chairman to carry out the repair to the handrail and pacing slab at the church at his earliest convenience and that the works should be in the region of £62.
Pond Improvements
The Chairman reported that work had been completed in this area, and the Committee extended their thanks and sincere appreciation to Andrew Grantham and GBM for the use of their equipment and all their assistance. All the Parish Councillors had also taken part in the work required to the pond.
9. Matters for Discussion
The Vice-Chairman reported that he had been approached by Legbourne Parish Council regarding the build-up of silt at the other (Legbourne) end of the beck. It was noted that equipment (a bobcat and skip) would be required. Members agreed that, in principle, they had no objection to going halves in the cost of this project.
