Draft - MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LITTLE CAWTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL
A Meeting of the Parish Council was held at The Royal Oak on Wednesday 19 January 2025 at 7.30 pm.

2. Minutes of Last Meeting
The Minutes of the Meeting held on 8 January 2025 were approved and signed.
3. Reports
Cemetery Working Group
The Chairman advised that there was nothing to report.
Legbourne Community Centre Group
Cllr Mrs Poppleton reported that this group had met and were holding an Easter Bingo on 11/04/25, and Car Boot on 27/04/35.
Speeding, Traffic & Highways Issues/Police Matters
The Chairman advised that some potholes had re-appeared on Planting Side and near the Church on bank side of the road, which had been filled. Members felt heavy rain had washed away the previous filling-in of the potholes. The Clerk was asked to write to LCC-Highways to report the trees coming over onto Buston Lane on the left-hand side as you enter the village.
4. Clerk’s Report
The Clerk had received notification that the Councillor Grant for the Beckside work had been successful. Members discussed when the work should commence and what was required to improve the area. The Clerk had also informed BW Maintenance that the Parish Council wished the grasscutting contract to continue for the new financial year.
5. Planning
The Committee noted the Application from the Planning Inspectorate in respect of the scoping opinion for Ossian Offshore Wind Farm.
6. Correspondence
ELDC-Electoral Updates, Clerks & Councils, ElanCity-Road Safety Information, LALC Newsletter, Glason brochure– all noted. The Clerk reported that as instructed the subscription to Open Spaces had been cancelled.
7. Accounts
The Clerk advised that due to some changes to her tax code earlier in the year, there had been an over-payment, which required amendment this month.
The statement of Income and Expenditure was noted which met the Council’s approval.
Clerk’s Salary-Overpayment £300. 90 HMRC-PAYE 64.73
8. Business
Pond Improvements
The Committee considered the improvements required to the pond and to the church handrail, the Chairman will obtain some quotes for each of these items and the Clerk will contact the District Council to see if it is possible to bid for a Community Grant to cover the cost of this work.
9. Matters for Discussion
The Committee noted that dog waste placed in “poo bags” was being thrown on the ground or into trees around the village, when there are waste bins for disposal of this matter. Fines can be issued for “Dog fouling”
