MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LITTLE CAWTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL
A Meeting of the Parish Council was held at The Royal Oak on Wednesday 12 January 2022 at 7.30 pm.
 
PRESENT:-   Chairman                    Cllr Graves

        Cllr:                             Mrs Poppleton  
        Also Present:               Cllr Ms Parkin (LCC).
 
  1. Apologies – None.
 
2.         Minutes of Last Meeting
The Minutes of the Meeting held on 10 November 2021 were approved and signed.
 
3.         Reports
             Cemetery Working Group – Nothing to report.
             Legbourne Community Centre Group
Cllr Mrs Poppleton advised that this group had held a meeting, but there was nothing to report.
            Speeding, Traffic & Highways Issues/Police Matters
Cllr Ms Parkin advised that other than the agreement that had been reached on the grit bins, there was no other news to report. It was noted that Parishioners had advised that there was some speeding in the village on Sunday afternoons.
 
4.         Clerk’s Report
The Clerk reported that she had purchased the new trolley cart at a cost of £13.65.
 
The Committee had, due to news coverage been made aware that the local branch of the TSB was to close later this year and it was agreed that the Parish Council Account should be moved to another local bank for ease of use.
 
5.         Planning
No Planning Applications received.
 
6.         Correspondence
Clerks & Councils Magazine, Lincs Wolds Facilities Guide, Open Spaces – noted.
 
Requests for a financial donation had been received from both LIVES and EL CAB and it was
 
RESOLVED  not to make a financial donation,.
 
7.         Accounts
            The statement of Income and Expenditure was noted which met the Council’s approval.

8.         Business
Budget/Precept Projects for 2022/23
The committee considered the amended draft Budget/Projects document. Although a verbal quote had been given of £30 per cut once a fortnight for the grass cutting at the closed churchyard, the written quote received was actually  £35 per cut. The Clerk awaited proof of Public Liability Insurance cover. It was
 
RESOLVED    i)        to increase the precept by £250 to £4250 per annum;
                       ii)         to accept the quote provided by BW Maintenance Ltd on provision of proof of Public Liability Insurance cover.
 
Pond Improvements
The Chairman noted that the pond was looking in a poor condition, but due to work commitments, it would be February/March before the Chairman and Vice-Chairman could resolve this matter.
 
Noticeboard Update and John Lill Woodland Walk
Cllr Mrs Poppleton reported that the Noticeboard had been completed and returned to site. A further donation of £60 had been made towards the cost of the refurbishment of the Noticeboard and the Committee expressed their thanks for the donation. Members were very pleased with the work carried out by the Men’s Shed and it was
 
RESOLVED  to pay the invoice for the refurbishment of the noticeboard to the sum of £230.
 
Beacons for the Queens Platinum Jubilee
It was agreed to remove this item from the Agenda because there was no suitable space in the village for a beacon.
