DRAFT - MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LITTLE CAWTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL
A Meeting of the Parish Council was held at The Royal Oak on Wednesday 8 January 2025 at 7.30 pm.

  1. Apologies - None
 
2.         Minutes of Last Meeting
Following an amendment to Minute 8 Village Entrance Gates to “remove the Item from the Agenda”. The Minutes of the Meeting held on 13 November 2024 were approved and signed.
 
3.         Reports
Cemetery Working Group
The Chairman reported that there was nothing to report.
 
Legbourne Community Centre Group
Cllr Mrs Poppleton reported that the group had not yet meet this year.
 
Speeding, Traffic & Highways Issues/Police Matters
The Vice-Chairman had spoken with Cllr Ms Parkin (LCC) and reported road surface either side of the Royal Oak and manhole cover.
 
4.         Clerk’s Report – None.
 
5.         Planning
The Committee noted the objection response sent by the Clerk (on behalf of the Parish Council) in respect of an application from the Planning Inspectorate regarding an installation by National Grid.
 
6.         Correspondence
ELDC-Electoral Updates, Clerks & Councils, LALC Newsletter, Open Spaces-change of details, Glason brochure– all noted.
 
7.         Accounts
            The statement of Income and Expenditure was noted which met the Council’s approval.
            BW Main-Grasscutting            £833.54           Clerk’s Salary+backdated Pay            £483.82
               
8.         Business
Budget, Precept Projects for 2025/26
The Committee considered the revised draft Budget/Precept and it was
 
RESOVED     i) to accept the revised Budget and;
         ii) to accept the grass cutting quote from BW Maintenance for 25/26;
         iii) to cancel the subscription/membership for Open Spaces;
         iv) to increase the precept from £4750 to £5100, to meet general increases,
      particularly the cost of grasscutting.
 
Heavy Rain & Wind – January 2025
Members reported on the effects of yet more inclement weather, which had resulted in some trees coming down and flooding.
 
9.         Matters for Discussion
The Vice-Chairman advised that he would fill in the gaps in the yew hedge before spring and Helen advised of an area at the back of the church that required attention too.
